This past year we have tried to make the treasurers report a little easier to read and understand. During this process, some actuals may look as if something is a little strange because there are no numbers in the unaudited columns. With the Bishop and my schedules, we haven’t been able to get together to make sure the numbers got translated from the old forms to the new ones with the numbers in the right boxes. I can assure you this will be done this summer. I can also assure you that the numbers on the bottom lines ore solid. The proposed budget is based on long term experience and reasonable projections for the coming year.

After looking at the Staff and Personnel section we noticed the possibility of an overpayment to the Bishop this past fiscal year. He offered and Synod Council agreed that, if this is verified in audit, that his salary will be garnered (adjusted to pay back an excess payments) during the remainder of this year.

Mutual Ministry Committee, at the insistence of the Bishop, has reviewed the compensation package for the years 26-27, and as you can see in their report, recommends the lower compensation in their report (Report of the of the Synod Mutual Ministry Committee).

While I present this budget for adoption, we can expect to hear a motion to postpone approval until after Mutual Ministry Committee has a chance to give their report.
