Before using the collar, make sure users handling it have read and understood these safety instructions.

The Nofence collar uses a pulse to contain livestock in the virtual boundary. This pulse is delivered through the metal chains and may feel like a short, sharp zap. It’s important to handle the collar with care to avoid accidental electric discharge.

Handling guidelines

✅ Always remove the collar from the pasture before handling it. If you’re unsure whether the collar is inactive or removed from pasture, use the green neck strap or collar unit to lift it.

❌ Do not touch both metal chains at the same time, especially with one hand on each chain.

The collar emits a pulse of up to 0.7 joules for cattle or 0.34 joules for sheep and goat collars. These levels are considered safe for healthy adults, but sensitivity can vary.

Medical considerations

People with medical devices

Individuals with a pacemaker, ICD, or neurological condition should not test the collar pulse and must carefully follow all safety instructions when handling the collar. Even low-energy pulses may affect sensitive medical devices. If exposed to a pulse, seek medical advice.

Children and older adults

Children and older adults may have a lower tolerance to electrical pulses compared to healthy adults.

Precautions during pregnancy

Electrical pulses are not proven to cause harm during pregnancy, but discomfort or stress reactions are possible. To be safe, avoid direct contact during pregnancy.
