The myshop-value:save-control extension displays a checkbox which if checked makes the browser the user is using remember the information he or she entered in the customer information screen. This information is set in a cookie with unlimited expiration time. When the user cleans up personal information (like emptying cache and the like) this information might be lost. Also this information is only stored on one pc, for the specific browser the user is using at that time.
