Custom Layout Basics

MyShop.com supports custom templates for almost every webshop screen, including the skin (adjustable per page), productlist, moreinfo, and all the checkout screens.

These custom html templates, or custom layouts, can be created with any standard (X)HTML editor. Recommended editors are:

• Texteditors
  • Editplus – Simple texteditor with syntax highlighting and advanced features
  • jEdit – Crossplatform texteditor with lots of features
• WYSIWYG editors
  • Dreamweaver – Advanced editor from adobe
  • Amaya – the official W3C editor

All submitted documents need to be XHTML compliant to be accepted. You can use the myShop specific extensions to display the desired data in the XHTML document (such as product information).

The best way to check your document for validity is using the official W3.org validator, which you can find here (check via upload): W3C Validator.
