Parent Responsibilities

PARENT RESPONSIBLITIES

Parents/Guardians are expected to review this handbook with their student and:

1. Ensure the student arrives at the bus stop at least 5 – 10 minutes early.
2. Avoid asking drivers to make unscheduled stops.
3. Support the district’s efforts to streamline routes.
4. Teach students to follow transportation rules and respect staff.
5. Understand that the district is not responsible for students until they board the bus.
6. Supervise students walking to school until they enter school grounds.
7. Reinforce appropriate bus behavior.
8. Support school staff in upholding transportation safety policies.
9. Have an emergency plan if no one is home when a student arrives.
