GENERAL TRANSPORTATION GUIDELINES

  1. Students must be at their bus stop 5–10 minutes before the scheduled time (Not in the house or vehicle waiting).
  2. Drivers cannot wait for late students.
  3. Initial pick-up times may vary during the first few weeks of school. Permanent times are typically established by October 1.
  4. Students are assigned to one bus route and may not ride a different bus for after-school activities or social visits.
  5. Students must board and exit the bus only at their assigned stop.
  6. Students are issued a district ID. These are necessary to log on and off the bus. All students should have their district ID on their person when getting on or off the bus.
  7. Seat belts are required and must be worn at all times.
  8. Students should wait off the road and approach the bus only after it has stopped and red lights are flashing.
  9. If crossing the street, students must wait for the driver’s signal, cross at least 15 feet in front of the bus, and look both ways.
  10. Carry-on items must fit on the student’s lap. Large items, including instruments, require prior approval.
  11. All stop change requests must be submitted in writing. No phone requests are accepted. Processing time may take up to three school days—or up to three weeks at the beginning of the year.
  12. Ensure house numbers are clearly visible from the road. Unmarked homes may delay transportation on the first week.
