We have already seen how Scrigno allows to produce statistics on the business trend according to different parameters, which might be combined at our own discretion (channel and market, origin and market etc.): among these survey values, we can also find the so-called PRODUCT that, in the reservation, might turn out to be mandatory, according to the type of market specified in the reservation file. (See note 2 – Reservation MARKET basic table)
Usually, the list of the items included in the PRODUCT basic table refers to those special offers, promotions or situations that have motivated the customer to book a stay at our hotel (business special package, holiday special package, Membership promotion, special events); however, when necessary, the list can be adapted to different purposes.
As the products offered are specific for each structure, Scrigno requires different lists for each hotel; however, it is possible to group all the relevant products included in the single peripheries in one single centralised table.
The example proposed here is useful for better understanding the potential of this parameter.

- INSERTING A PRODUCT ITEM
- Click the button to modify the first blank row of the form.
- Code field: enter an identification code for the item. The code cannot consist of more than 5 characters, alphanumeric.
- Description field: briefly describe the product item.
- Hot Code field: enter the code of the hotel where the record must be viewed.
- Click the button to save.
- GROUPING MORE PRODUCT ITEMS IN ONE SINGLE CATEGORY
Over time, there might be the need to group all or some of the product items created, in order to produce general statistical or marketing surveys:
Referring back to the setup example proposed in the main picture, we might decide to make some general considerations for the entire group or for hotel only, about the results of all the ‘Book in advance’ offers applied in 2013.
Here is explained how to proceed:
- Access the menu: Tables > Reservations > Product group
- Create the needed group item ‘Book in advance offers 2013’, by clicking the insert and save buttons.
- Go back to the list of values TABLES > RESERVATIONS > PRODUCT, and attach the pertaining items to the newly created macro category, by selecting it from the specific drop-down menu.
- Save the records reclassification by clicking the button.
- MODIFYING A PRODUCT ITEM
- Click and search for the product item to be modified.
- Select the record and make the necessary corrections. N.B. the code can be modified only if the production question has never been used before!
- Save the modification by clicking the button.
- DELETING A PRODUCT ITEM OR A PRODUCT GROUP
- Click the button and search for the product item to be deleted.
- Click the button to delete the line. N.B. The deletion will be successful only if the code has never been used before.
- If the code to be deleted from view has already been used before, tick the field indicated to carry out a logical deletion of the record.
- Click the button to save.
- TRANSLATING A PRODUCT ITEM
It is possible to translate into different languages all the encoded product items; this step is mandatory if such specifications are included in the automated reservation confirmation standard texts used by Scrigno.
