Together with origin and channel, Scrigno obliges to always specify in the reservation also the respective market of the customer who buys, and thus, the relating table must group all the customers or potential customer types at which our business is aimed.
Such information is fundamental to allow management to gather significant data in order to be able to identify customers and get a clearer idea of the motivations that address those customers towards a specific hotel, which services they prefer, which are the most and the less requested periods and the most convenient price.

For multi-property settings, the table is obviously shared by all the hotels of the group, in order to guarantee a centralised system for the study and gathering of data.

  1. Market segment
    Potential hotel customers might differ by number and nature: from here arises the need to create macro categories of segments that differ by customer type.

INSERTING A MARKET SEGMENT ITEM:

Place the cursor on the first blank row of the form.

  • Click the button.
  • Code field: enter a code for the segment. The code cannot consist of more than 5 characters, alphanumeric.
  • Description field: briefly describe the type of market segment.
  • Order field: specify the display order of the item in the table.
  • Click the button to save.

MODIFYING A MARKET SEGMENT ITEM

  • Select the record to be modified.
  • Make the necessary corrections.
  • Click the button to save.

DELETING A MARKET SEGMENT ITEM:

  • In the table, select the line to be deleted.
  • Click the button. The deletion will only be possible if the record has never been used before and does not include market sub-items.
  • Click the button to save.

    The form includes all the markets associated with the segment macro category selected above.

INSERTING A MARKET ITEM:
After having selected the market segment relating to the market (Note 1), place the cursor on the first blank line of the form shown here:

  • Click the button indicated.
  • Code field: Enter a code for the market. The code cannot consist of more than 5 characters, alphanumeric.
  • Description field: briefly describe the market in question.
  • Product field: the specification is mandatory:
  • The options are:
    • S = This market item, if used in the reservation, must ALWAYS be accompanied by a specification of the product. (See note 4 at the overview page Reservation fields setup)
    • N = This market item, if used in the reservation, does not necessarily have to be accompanied by a product. (For further information, see Reservation PRODUCT basic table)
  • Order field: specify the display order of the item in the general market reservation table.
  • Click the button to save.

MODIFYING A MARKET ITEM

  • Select the record to be modified.
  • Make the necessary corrections.
  • Click the button to save.

DELETING A MARKET ITEM:

  • In the table, select the line to be deleted.
  • Click the button. The deletion will be possible only if the record has never been used before.
  • Click the button to save.
