Keyframes are the storing of data at a point within a track, as the playhead passes this position the data is recalled from the keyframe. Transitions, which dictate how the data value changes, are the connections between two keyframes. In Hippotizer if no keyframes are present in a track then whatever value is currently set for a Pin will stay the same, therefore it is important to set a default state at the beginning of a show or use keyframes to reset to a state at the start of a timeline.

Keyframes are shown in a child track with a circle and within a parent group track as a diamond. The diamond will show when a track within a group has a keyframe at this position.
