The title of your lab report should convey to your reader what was studied.

Some things to keep in mind as you write your title:

Be specific: Your title should include specific information. Some examples of information that can be included are: what organism/chemical was studied, what procedure was completed, what aspect of the organism/chemical was studied, or what was determined about the organism/chemical?

Here are a few examples of uninformative titles and their improved counterpart:

Informative titles might also be misleading such as this title which leaves the reader wondering whether antioxidants protect from or cause cancer:

  • e.g: “Protection against Carcinogenesis by Antioxidants”
