Purpose of This Handbook
Welcome to the Trinity Western University Biology Department! This handbook was created as a resource to assist you in having a successful and enjoyable biology experience. The information outlines many of the policies and guidelines of the Biology Department that will guide you in your first year and serve as a valuable aid to which you can return throughout your introductory and upper level courses. You will find that the standards in the sciences can be different from other disciplines; thus each section was designed to equip and prepare you for what will be expected throughout your time here.
The handbook outlines significant topics including How to write a lab report, Scientific writing, Safety in the laboratory, and How to use online resources.
We hope that this handbook proves an invaluable tool for you as you progress here at TWU In addition, your instructors will be available to you as a resource should you need clarification or have questions regarding a particular matter not covered here.
