How to get emojis and other symbols

Under the same menu used to bring up the Keyboard Viewer, now, select “Show Emoji & Symbols”. This brings up another window called the Character Viewer window.

Make sure the cursor is in the proper cell in the Unknown Characters Editor
Double-click on the emoji or symbol you want to appear in the cell as a replacement character.

**Tip *- You can use this feature to replace certain characters with other characters. For example you may want a diamond bullet character instead of a round bullet character. To do this, when you encounter a round bullet character in the Unknown Characters Editor, simply replace it with the diamond bullet character and when you view your document, all of the round bullets should now be replaced with diamond shaped bullets. (This replaces • with ◆)
