For letters that use diacritical marks, once in the cell to edit the character, simply long-press the letter on the keyboard and a popup menu will appear with choices of what characters are available. You can then either use the right and left arrow keys to select the character you want or you can simply type the number under the character in the list. In the sample screen cap, the “e” was long-pressed until the popup menu appeared. At this point you can either use the right arrow key to navigate to the é and then tap Return or you can simply type the number 2, which highlights the é entry and tap the Return key.
