Dinghy Davit Operation

  1. Retrieve the dinghy davit controller from its storage, commonly in cockpit storage, galley storage, or underneath the command bridge sink.
  2. Insert the end of the controller into the black plugin near the base of the davit.
  3. Remove the large bobby pin and locking pin from the port and starboard side of the base of the davit, respectively. Set them in a secure spot where they will not be lost.
  4. Raise the davit arm up and reinsert the bobby pin and locking pin. Be aware of your surroundings as the crane can freely swing.
  5. Detach the carabiner from the davit arm cable.
  6. Raise and lower the davit arm cable with the attached controller.
  7. Once the davit is no longer needed, ensure the davit arm cable is reeled in and the end is attached to the davit arm via the carabiner.
  8. Remove the bobby and locking pins, stow them in a secure location, and lower the davit arm onto its support rest.
  9. Reinsert the bobby and locking pins, disconnect the davit controller, and stow the controller back in its storage.
