The purpose of the implausible reads tolerance optimization report is to analyze all implausible reads in the system and determine how far above or below the existing tolerances the implausible reads are. It is useful from a “What if” analysis perspective, in the sense that if a Utility would like to understand what impact a change in the meter reading plausibility tolerances would have. For example, if tolerances were to be widened by 2%, how many implausible reads would now be able to be released? As an additional usage of this report, if you were to then change the configuration in Device Management to widen the tolerance and promote this into production, you can use this program to then automatically release those implausible reads that are now within the newly set tolerances.
