RESTful APIs

ActiveControl has long offered a set of SOAP APIs that can be used to perform various key operations within ActiveControl via integrations with external 3rd Party tools:

• Create a Business Task
• Change a Business Task
• Read a Business Task
• Start the analysis for a Business Task
• Read the results of an analysis run
• Approve a Business Task
• Enter the test results for a Business Task

Over the years, some Basis Technologies’ customers looking to do more advanced integrations between ActiveControl and other 3rd Party tools have requested a much more extensive set of RESTful based APIs.

ActiveControl Web Platform 9.00 includes new RESTful APIs that can be used by customers to interact with ActiveControl from other 3rd Party tools. The available RESTful APIs can be viewed from the /docs/ subdirectory of your Web Platform installation. These APIs do not use Odata or CDS views because Basis Technologies needed to ensure compatibility for customers with older SAP systems.

* Although the suite of RESTful APIs are already a lot more extensive that what was previously available with ActiveControl, the suite will continue to grow with the Web Platform in 2023.
