INTS (Interdisciplinary Studies) 3330 – Community Development Field School (3 credits) This interdisciplinary course will provide students with an overview of International Community Development issues such as poverty, health care, education, human rights, foreign aid and controversy. Students will be encouraged to examine topics such as sustainable development from the unique perspective of their individual fields of study. The course outline will be shared via d2l.
This course, along with COMM 3501, Intercultural Communications, are integrated and presented together in the field school experience. Offering the two together permits consideration of specific issues in community development on one hand, while exploring cultural differences and personal responses to engagement with a different culture.
INTS 3330 is general education eligible at tier three in cluster 3. It is different than the required social work course INTS 3331.
