How to take a backup of DCM database on Windows

To take a backup of DCM database please follow these steps:

1. Open your file explorer

2. Type in “LocalAppData” in your file path box (with percentage signs around it – just like in the screenshot below)

3. Navigate to a folder called “Packages”

4. Navigate to a folder called “PSI2000Limited.DataCollectorMobile_[uniqueId]”

5. Navigate to a folder called “LocalState”

*Note: The database holds all the data from DCM, including all the photos & drawings for the jobs and their inspections – therefore it could be of a large size. To make the file more convenient for sending, we suggest compressing the file.

6. Right click the file “DcmDb.db3” and zip it

7. Make a copy of the compressed file and send it to your systems administrator.

*Note: If the file exceeds allowed email attachment size, please use services like “One Drive”, “Google Drive”, “Dropbox” to upload the file on, and simply share the link of the file with your systems administrator so that they could download the database.
