PDFMarkz provides an on screen preview of documents you open. While we try and make the preview as accurate as possible, there are features that may not appear correct in the on screen preview, but when an IDML is exported or sent to another application it will be as accurate as possible. Due to the nature of PDFs many things we take for granted in DTP/Layout apps are stripped out when a PDF is created and the PDF itself is actually a series of drawing commands designed to recreate an accurate visual representation of the original document. Some of the things not supported in PDF files are:
- Text Wrap or Runaround
- Paragraph Styles
- Character Styles
- Split/Span Column Text
- Tables
Thus, PDFMarkz makes intelligent guesses as to how to recreate these features to get as accurate a representation of the original PDF as possible.
