The Lightning Tools’ Phone Book SharePoint® add-in (app) provides your SharePoint users with a single place to find and view all contacts for all sites in your on-premises installation of SharePoint 2013 or within your Office 365 tenant, whether the contacts are SharePoint users or they are stored in contact lists throughout your installation or tenant.

The benefits of using the Phone Book add-in are:

  • By viewing contacts in a single experience saves time as there is a single place to searching for individuals, whether they are internal to your company or external and listed in individual contact lists spread across the many sites you may have in your installation or tenant.
  • The add-in displays users as tiles that include a background image and a link to contacts dialog, which can be used to display a user’s profile page or the contact list item properties page. The tile also contains icons that can be used to find who the user is following and their followers, as well as providing a dialog that displays a QR code, which can be used to add a contact as a phone contact when scanned with a smart phone.
  • A company image can be used for the tile background image and is used for any contact with a matching email address suffix for the users, allowing for faster visual scanning when looking at many results.
  • The user experience of the add-in on touch devices, give quicker access to all contacts in the farm/tenant compared with the out-of-the-box contacts list views or search pages.
