Beginning in version 24.9, Orchid Recorder motion regions may now appear on Players in WebRTC mode during both live and recorded video.

The motion regions are generated by a keyframe comparison on the server (for server-side motion detection), or by camera reporting (for camera-side motion detection). If enabled, these motion regions will appear as video overlays on Players in WebRTC mode.

The motion regions will appear on the face of a Player when the following conditions are true:

  • Orchid Recorder is running version 24.9 or greater
  • The camera is configured for motion detection
  • You are viewing live or recorded video
  • The Player is in WebRTC mode
  • You have elected to show the motion regions
  • The server or the camera is reporting motion
  1. To enable the motion region overlay:
    1. First, position the mouse over the Player; this will activate the image header.
    2. Click the Statistics icon to open the Statistics overlay.
    3. To show the motion regions on a Player in WebRTC mode, click Show Motion Regions in the upper-right corner of the statistics overlay.
    4. To hide the motion regions on a Player in WebRTC mode, click Hide Motion Regions in the upper-right corner of the statistics overlay.
