Heating is managed by one of the 2 following means, depending on whether or not an air conditioner is present or not.
Control – Heater Only
When the cabinet is supplied with a heater, but no air conditioner, battery bay heating is managed as follows:
- A thermostat paired with the heater is used to set the temperature at which the heater should turn on to maintain the desired temperature.
- Because, the heater, by itself, has no system for failure detection, 2 external thermostats are mounted in the cabinet to read temperature, and provide alarms to an EPIC Controller input should the heater fail, resulting in either a low temperature or over-temperature.
Control – When Air Conditioner is Present
Battery bay heating is managed through the air conditioner unit when an air conditioner is present. The Cabinet will alarm if the internal temperature decreases beyond the users alarm point.
