Playing in a pool hosted at Zathras & Wubba’s

Playing in a pool here is simple- just follow these quick and easy steps!

1) Create a User Account here at Zathras & Wubba’s King of the Hill by following the steps as outlined here.

2) Join the pool! If you have the URL for a specific pool you want to join, (eg, someone sent you an email with the link in it), you can just go there directly. Otherwise click the Pools tab in the Navbar below the header.

This will show you the list of pools. Locate your pool in the list and check to see what the status is.

  • If it is showing a status of “Pending” then the manager has not yet opened it up for people to join.
  • If the status is “Signups Open” then you should be able to join it- just click on the pool name and it will bring up the Pool Info page.
  • If it says “Signups Closed” then you may be too late- The manager has closed the pool for self signups. However the pool has not actually begun yet, so you may still be able to contact the manager and have him add you to his pool.
  • If it says “In Progress” then you’re definitely too late! The signups are over and the pool is underway!

The Pool Info page shows all the details for the pool including what options are being used. You will also see a “Join This Pool” button

This brings up the Join Pool page, where you will see a few questions and some information about the pool on this page depending on which options the manager has chosen.
One of the options you can set as a player, is to receive an email reminder the day before the deadline if you are missing picks on any of your entries. The default for this is yes, but if you don’t want these emails just deselect the box. You can always change this setting later on your Player Options page.

Finally, a checkbox is provided that indicates you have read and understand the rules of the site and of the pool you are joining. Click the JOIN button to join the pool!

If you are a returning player from a pool you participated in last year, it is possible that your manager has automatically added you and approved you as a player in this year’s pool. In this case when you go to the pool page you will see the option to get entries rather than join the pool.
