Factory reset via buttons

Alternatively, a factory reset can also be done via some buttons on the side of the screen.

  • Go to the right side of the screen and look for a small indented square-shaped button with the writing “RECOVERY” underneath.
  • Use a pen or alike to gently press down the “RECOVERY” button. Please note the importance of gently pressing the button. You will feel when it clicks. Pushing the button too hard will result in breaking the button and factory reset is not possible anymore.
  • Please keep the button pressed for 5 seconds
  • While still keeping the “RECOVERY” button pressed, please click the “RESET” button once and keep the “RECOVERY” button still pressed for 1 or 2 seconds.
  • When the menu on the screen pops up, press the “RECOVERY” button 6 times to reach “wipe data/factory reset”. (Or if a keyboard is attached via USB you can use the arrow keys.)
  • Press the “POWER” button once to confirm. The “POWER” button is located under the “AUDIO” button. (Or if a keyboard is attached via USB you can use the ENTER key.)
  • Press the “RECOVERY” button to say YES. (Or if a keyboard is attached via USB you can use the arrow keys.)
  • Press the “POWER” button once more to confirm. The “POWER” button is located under the “AUDIO” button. (Or if a keyboard is attached via USB you can use the ENTER key.)
  • The device should now conduct a factory reset. Please do not switch off the device while it is factory resetting.
