The Travel Companies that work with Bright World Guardianships have been selected and accredited for their professionalism and quality of service delivery to children and young people. The companies and drivers that work with Bright World are extremely valuable partners in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of our students, and upholding the highest possible levels of safeguarding.

In support of this partnership, Bright World appreciates the exceptional role that taxi drivers carry out and the uniqueness of their work in terms of safeguarding and child protection. For example, being the Bright World ‘eyes and ears’ for the student, being aware of their welfare during transportation, noticing when a child or young person is upset, distressed or appears hurt or noticing when they perhaps appear scared in front of the person they are travelling with or may even seem to be travelling against their will.

In recognition of the circumstances that taxi drivers may be presented with during the transportation of a child or young person, Bright World Guardianships has produced this guide and offers drivers range of safeguarding resources to help raise their awareness of the relevant issues. This is with a view to ensuring that taxi drivers are well informed and that children and young people are as safe and secure as possible.

Emergency phone

Please note and use our 24/7 emergency number 01273 836060. Please ensure that you or your Head office keeps the Duty Manager informed at all times when there is a problem,if a journey changes or anything out of the ordinary occurs.

Yellow board identification

Please remember you MUST use the yellow boards provided and write the student’s name clearly on the board. This is what they are expecting. PLEASE STAND SOMEWHERE OBVIOUS SO THE STUDENT CAN SEE YOU EASILY. If you need more boards then please contact Leanne Poole at Bright World.

Finding your student

Where possible we will have given you their mobile number and will have given them yours. Please do not leave the airport or pick up point without your student and especially without first speaking to a member of the Bright World team.

Airport Angels

Bright World uses this additional service from time to time for Airside pick up and escort to boarding as well as landside meet and greet for some very anxious children or parents. You will be informed on our request if an Airport Angel is involved with the booking and you will be sent a profile of the Airport Angel prior to the journey so that you can make contact with them for meeting up and handover of student. We also retain the services of Airport Angels throughout the year for our own emergency situations and therefore you may be asked to communicate with an Airport Angel in these circumstances.
