Free Form Fixtures allow for LED tape and other non-linear fixtures to be Pixel mapped.
Freeform Fixture Properties
Free Form Fixtures are set through the layout of a fixture profile.
A Freeform Fixtrure profile has only four parameters:
Element Size
Sets the size of an emitting element. Elements are circular so the size is the diameter.
Element Spacing
The distance between elements. Distance is measured from the centre of one element to the centre of the next.
Encoding
Sets the number of DMX channels for each element (the bit depth). An 8-bit element is controlled from a single DMX channel, 16-bit elements use two DMX channels.
The most common 16-bit control method is big-endian, where the 1st channel is fine control and the 2nd is course control.
The alternative method of 16-bit little-endian is also available. This sets the 1st channel as course control and the 2nd channel as fine control.
Colour Space
Sets the colour scheme used for the fixture. The Colour Space must match that of the fixture.
Number of Cells
The number of cells of a Free Form fixture is not set by the profile. Instead, each fixture can have a different numbers of cells as is common with LED tape.
To set the number of cells of a Free Form fixture add it to the map and select it.
Note: Free Form fixtures can not exceed 512 control channels |
