Key Stage 1

In the main the pupils who come to us who are in KS1 have identified gaps in learning.

These are often basic literacy and numeracy issues that are preventing progress within the classroom environment.

It is at the discretion of the tutor to identify these gaps and to provide tuition activities in order to progress that child back to their expected level of progress.

The design of the session is reliant upon the tutor.

It is also noteworthy that these children are extremely young, and can come to us after a full day at school so the emphasis would be on engagement through learning fun activities whilst focused on the basic rudimentary aspects of key stage one curriculum.

Key Stage 2

In the main, our pupils come for SAT preparation and preparation for the exam is our key focus on priority.

Whilst the content is covered in school, it is very often the role of the KS2 tutor to:

  • Prepare the children for the exam
  • Familiarise them with the exam paper
  • Familiarise them with timings
  • Focus generally good on exam technique
