Locking Business Tasks

Business Tasks can be manually or automatically locked in ActiveControl to prevent more transport forms from being attached to them. One common use case of Business Task locking is when the SAP change is ready for production, so that no further transports can be attached to it at the last minute.

Business Tasks can be locked manually in the Web UI or in the Windows GUI.

Locking Business Tasks in the Web UI

Business Tasks can be manually locked/unlocked in the Web UI by using the [Locked (prevent further transports being added to it)] checkbox in the middle of the Business Task screen.

Business Tasks can be manually locked/unlocked in the Windows GUI by using the [Lock this task to prevent further transports being added to it] checkbox at the bottom left of the screen

* When a Business Task is locked, a padlock icon is displayed next to it.

* Business Task locking can also be done automatically by ActiveControl when a Business Task passes a specific control point for a target system, via an ActiveControl Administrator setting configuration option [After approval of items at the XXX on this target, tasks are automatically locked].

* Business Task locking does NOT prevent an associated transport from being approved or imported.
