In AOS, users can have one of two roles. A user with a standard role is able to create and manage AFD-definitions. However, a user with certification and publication rights can additionally certify and/or publish AFD-definitions on behalf of his organization.
- Certification is automatically initiated
- Publication in the register is optional
- Making the AFD-definition available for download is also optional
All published AFD-definitions are visible in the register. Owners of an AFD-definition can specify which organizations are authorized to download it. AFD-definitions intended solely for internal use do not require publication. If the owner wishes to announce the creation of an AFD-definition publicly but does not want it to be widely accessible, he can provide it upon request to organizations. Should the owner opt to make the AFD-definition available for download, other parties can easily obtain it. However, the owner retains control over which organizations are permitted to download it, even if it is made available for download.
More information about AOS is available on the SIVI website (in Dutch).
