Thank you for your interest in IPConfigure’s Orchid Video Management System. This guide should provide you with everything you need to know as you prepare the system for readiness. We’ll begin with an overview of the product and the user guide, then we’ll explain how to activate a license, and add users and cameras to get the system up and running. Once that is done, we’ll cover the reporting features and other advanced topics to help you manage and understand the system.

What’s New in Version 24.9

Here are the most notable changes for Administrators in Orchid Recorder version 24.9.

  • Orchid Recorder now allows for the creation of tags for cameras, Orchid Recorder servers, and Event Subscriptions. This represents foundational work for a future release, so the tags are currently of limited use at the user interface level. However, API users may make use of these new tags.
  • ONVIF cameras using HTTPS communication may now be added to the system.
  • API Users may now upload an audio clip to an API endpoint. The clip will then play using the camera’s Talk Down channel.

For all of the details on new features and bug fixes, please refer to the release notes on the IPConfigure web site.
