A number of new parameters have been added in this release of Testimony:

Parameter Name Area Description
SEQ_STRATEGY Playback This is the main parameter that controls whether full throttle is used or not for the sequencing strategy. It is now defaulted to on (value = 02) in order to accelerate the playback performance.
CHK_STP_RFC_VALIDATE Recording and Playback This parameter controls whether a “ping” is made to all of the relevant RFC destinations (source or target systems of the plan) prior to either the check, preparation or post-processing steps executing. If any RFC destinations do not respond, then the steps are not executed.
PLAYBACK_THRSHLD_RED Playback This parameter controls how much longer (% more) the playback duration needs to be compared to the recording duration should be prior to the UI displaying the entry in “red”.
PLAYBACK_THRSHLD_AMB Playback This parameter controls how much longer (% more) the playback duration needs to be compared to the recording duration should be prior to the UI displaying the entry in “amber”.
PLAYBACK_TRACE Playback If this parameter to set to true, a more detailed trace is written per execution step during the playback. Precise timings of calls in various parts of the playback algorithm is output. The default is to not turn this on.
FORCE_GUI_WIN_SIZE Playback This parameter is not new, but it has always been delivered turned off. It is now delivered turned and it will resize the SAP GUI windows during the playback to that captured in the recording.
DISABLE_ALL_BLOCKS Playback This parameter controls whether the operator is able to view the execution queue “blocks” from the database. It is currently delivered turned off as this functionality is in ramp-up mode.
STAD_ACTIVE Recording This parameter controls whether the performance statistic data is calculated during the recording. If this is not turned on, then you will not have access to the performance analysis data after the recording.
STAD_PERIOD Recording As the recording progresses, the statistics of the recorded transactions are accumulated on a regular basis. This accumulation and aggregation of the statistics data happens according to this parameter. The default is every 1 hour and is specified in the parameter in minutes.
STAD_SUBPERIOD Recording Even though the periodicity of the statistics is every 1 hour, this parameter controls the time period of “batches” of statistics data that are retrieved and aggregated (for memory and performance reasons). This parameter is specified in seconds.
PLAYBACK_PARAM_AREA Playback When a check is made on the profile parameters for the target system, this value is compared to the profile parameter ztta/parameter_area on each application server of the target system. If it is less than this value, the check step is flagged as an error.
