Any new or modified gear and equipment that is to be used for frontline lifesaving operations may undergo an evaluation process.
These evaluations are to ensure the equipment is of the highest industry standard, fit for purpose, and does not present any intolerable secondary risk to members.
No officer, member, supplier or manufacturer has the authority to change specifications, introduce rescue equipment or modify existing approved rescue equipment without the written approval of the SLSA.
Suppliers or manufacturers wishing to have their equipment evaluated by SLSA should contact the SLSA Coastal Safety Team.
