Every year, the chairs and the TOC with support from the conference organizer are responsible for identifying, recruiting and solidifying sponsors and exhibitors for the annual meeting. Securing sponsors and exhibitors is part of the revenue model of the budget. The two types of revenue are defined as the following:

Sponsors: These are businesses and organizations that are interested in supporting the work of ISES and helping to create awareness of the work of exposure scientists. The typically do not have a strong presence at the meeting but may submit symposiums.

Exhibitors: These are businesses and organizations that are interested in showcasing their services or products directly to the attendees of the meeting. They typically have a presence as an exhibitor at the meeting.

Sponsorships are subject to review by the Ethics Committee and/or the Executive Committee. Exhibitors will be provided instructions and details related to the logistics of setting up onsite to have access to the attendees of the meeting.

The levels of sponsorships/exhibitors can vary from $1,000 to $10,000. Higher or lower levels can be identified as well. In addition, there are various other benefits to sponsorship or being an exhibitor that will be outlined in the prospectus each year. The prospectus will be developed as early possible (at least year in advance of the meeting). Other special events or other opportunities can be created for sponsors/exhibitors to promote such as the Women’s Networking Event, tours and other special events. The goal is to off-set the costs of the meeting.

Each year, the volunteers and the conference organizer will review the potential sponsor/exhibitor list that has been managed and handed over to the current year volunteers. This list has been managed and updated from year to year. There are sponsors/exhibitors who have been supporting the ISES Annual Meeting for a number of years. These businesses and organizations will be contacted first. Every year, new businesses and organizations need to be identified to solicit and recruit. There will be businesses/organizations that are unique to an area or region and they may not be interested in supporting from year to year. There will be others who can be developed over time.
