The TOC is responsible to identify and recruit relevant plenary speakers. The schedule should include at least one plenary speaker each day. It is the authority of the Scientific Committee of when the plenary speakers are scheduled during the day. In many cases, it will depend on the speaker’s schedule.

Plenary speakers should have the following attributes:

  • A renowned and respected professional in the field of exposure science.
  • The topic does not have to be scientific in nature.
  • The speaker will be required to approve marketing and communications specifically about this presentation.
  • The speaker should be considered an expert in his or her field.
  • The speakers should be diverse in race, ethnicity, geography and area of expertise.

Other elements of planning and organizing the plenary speakers:

  • There may be some funding available for travel expenses for the plenary speakers. This is not a requirement of the meeting. Plenary speakers should not be provided honorariums.
  • Plenary speakers are required to register for the meeting. It is the discretion of the chairs if plenary speakers should be provided a complimentary registration.

Format of presentations:
The presentations of the plenary speakers can be short with plenty of time for questions and answers. They can be scheduled for two per one hour session or one speaker for a one hour session. It is the discretion of the Scientific Committee how to schedule the plenary speakers.
