The quality of this program is fundamental to increasing the number of meeting participants and providing value to ISES members. It also brings revenue.
Developing an educational program for the meeting is the responsibility of the TOC, with significant input from the GSM Committee. Before each meeting the TOC and Conference Organizers will solicit submissions for presenters to host Pre-Conference Workshops. These workshops are typically 2 hours – 4 hours, sometimes as long as 8 hours. The workshops can be free of charge or there may be a charge depending on the preferences of the presenters. The workshops are typically held the day of the Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony.
The presenters of the workshops have been volunteers although they may receive a discount on the annual registration if the chairs identify this as a benefit.
