OPV, or Online Patient Verification, is a function that checks that a Patients Given Name, Surname, Date of Birth, Gender, Medicare Number & Medicare Reference Number is correct.

Find your patient record by going to the Main Menu, clicking the Patients tile, finding your patient then double-clicking to open the patient record.

On the patient screen you will see an OPV button near the middle of screen. Note that the OPV button will only be enabled if you have invoked Online Claiming in Branch Setup.

Click the OPV button and Optomate Touch will connect to Service Australia, passing up the patients details above and it will return the current valid details for that patient. You will then be prompted to update the patient record in Optomate Touch if any information differs.
