Drills shall be conducted in accordance with the state and federal laws. NJAC 6
A:27-11.2 states that there shall be at least two drills for all students who are transported to and from school. All other students shall receive instruction at least once a year.
Bus evacuation drills shall:
- Demonstrate and practice various methods and components of evacuation.
- Include the participation of educational staff, bus driver and students in appropriate portions of the drill, and
- Be conducted when the weather is conducive to safety and preferably when the bus arrives at the school with students onboard.
