Just a quick note to say that this week we used Classroom Salon for
the first time with a reading in my 40+ student course and I was
amazed at the level of engagement and participation, and I think we’ve
only scratched the surface of possibilities. I’m very excited to see
what more we can do with it. Thank you so much for letting us try it
out!

Thought I’d drop you guys a line and let you know how terribly grateful I
am for having Classroom Salon in my corner. Our school is tucked away in a
corner of eastern Caracas, but the protests and disruption are still very
near and our school is dealing the problems presented by the political
situation. We have determined we will stay open, but will depend on
“blended” learning in order to keep those students learning who cannot
safely get to school. My classes will be largely dependent on Classroom
Salon for the time period that this situation exists.

I’m so appreciative of the quality of the platform.

Wow your product is amazing; I am an educational technology director at a
local school district and will begin using it with a few teachers that are
flipping their classroom.
I actually use another login mcicconi@avsdweb.org.
I am showcasing it in my doctoral program, and many educators are excited.
If you really want input I have a few ideas….
1) it would be helpful if students were able to have different colored
highlight options.. Basically if I told students to use blue for supporting details, yellow for
foreshadowing…etc

My name is Allison Holsten, and I’ve used Classroom Salon as a secondary teacher in
international schools ranging from Qatar, to Venezuela, and now, most recently,
Mumbai, India.

I was notified of the new upgraded site last January, but for a number of reasons
this spring, I failed to use the platform. Much of this had to do with the changing
dynamic of my teaching situation in Caracas during this time.

I have transferred now to an international school in Mumbai, India. We begin
teaching next week. It’s a most interesting situation because the range of
technology use at this school is very different. It’s a very wealthy school,
however, and founded by Reliance Industries. I have much to learn about the school,
and the culture, but one thing I’m certain of, and that is the validity of using
Classroom Salon as one of my primary learning tools in the classroom.

My query is, which is the newest and best URL to use for this newest version of CS?
I believe I need to set up a new account, and dating from the message in January
2017, I’m hoping that there are new videos or webinars to introduce the newest
version of the platform to me?

I’ve noted it the past that I’d be interested in writing about the use of CS in my
classroom, and that offer is still very much in effect. My current interest was
spurred by a faculty meeting this morning, where the question of how we can document
the “process” of student learning for purposes of accreditation, etc., and my first
thought was to archive screenshots from CS discussions, which is a practice of mine
in the past.

Do let me know which is the best way to proceed, as I’m very eager to get started.

Sincerely,

Allison Perry Holsten
