You have decided to teach your program via Shaping. Please follow the subsequent instruction for completing the Program set-up for a Shaping BTI program.

  • Select the number of steps in your shaping program. You will have the opportunity to enter the actual steps in the program at the bottom of this screen. You have the option of entering up to 20 steps for Shaping programs.
  • Next, select the type of Shaping program you wish to run from the drop down. You have the option of choosing Within Response Topographies or Across Response Topographies. This information will appear in the procedure sheet available on the iPad.

In this Shaping example, step 1 of the program would be to teach solitary play for 5 minutes and then when that was mastered, systematically increase the playing time to 10 minutes. On the iPad, both steps will appear and when data has been entered and saved for the first step, the step-wheel will advance to the 2nd step. All of the steps in the shaping programs can be available to the person collecting the data in the event that the client skips ahead and performs steps closer to the terminal behavior. If you do not want all steps to be available on the iPad at the same time, simply just complete the Step 1 field, and as this is achieved, modify it to reflect the next step in your sequence.
