• The next set of 11 fields that begin with PF reference the Prompt Fading process. The Prompt Fading process in Big Data is “smart” – meaning that the system will change the prescribed prompts appearing on the iPad according to the information that you enter in the following fields. This analysis occurs overnight so depending on the data taken and the entries in the below fields, new prescribed prompts can show up on a daily basis. Prompts will not automatically change within one day. For example, if you work on a program in the morning with a client and then again in the afternoon, the prescribed prompts will be the same for both of those sessions.
    • PF Success Percentage – enter the percentage number for moving to the next least restrictive prompt. The default is 90%.
    • PF Success Rate – enter the number of trials/opportunities/days etc. for moving to the next least restrictive prompt. The default is 2.
    • PF Success Periods – enter the total number of trials/opportunities/day etc. for reaching the PF Success Rate. The default is 3. As in 90% for 2 out of 3 trials/opportunities/day.
    • PF Success Period Scale – select the scale that you are using from the drop-down; this can be trials, opportunities, days, weeks, months, or quarters
    • PF Failure Percentage – enter the percentage for moving to the next most restrictive prompt. The default is 70%.
    • PF Failure Rate – enter the number of trials/opportunities/day etc. for moving to the next most restrictive prompt. The default is 2.
    • PF Failure Periods – enter the total number of trials/opportunities/day etc. for hitting the PF Failure Rate. The default is 2. As in 70% for 2 out of 2 trials/opportunities/days.
    • PF Failure Period Scale – select the scale that you are using from the drop-down; this must match what you selected for the Success Scale.
    • PF Alert Rate – enter percentage criteria for an alert if the steps previously trained to least restrictive prompt are not maintained – the number of trials/opportunities/day etc. for moving back a prompt. The default is 50%.
    • PF Alert Period – enter the total number of trials/opportunities/day etc. for steps previously trained are not maintained. The default is 2. As in 50% for 2 trials/opportunities/days.
    • PF Alert Period Scale – select the scale that you are using from the drop-down; this must match what you selected for the Success Scale

  • Please note: for correct data analysis, “opportunities” should NOT be selected as the Prompt Fading scale when using Discrete Trials.
  • Even though a prompt will be prescribed on the iPad, the option also exists for this prompt to be changed in the field. For example, if FP was prescribed on a particular step, but the client performed it independently, the prompt wheel can be moved to I and this data appropriately recorded. Each time the prompt wheel is changed from the prescribed prompt, an alert will appear on the iPad indicating that the prompt has been changed. Selecting OK will remove this alert from the screen, allowing for the saving of the data at the correct prompt level. The prescribed prompt will then reappear on the prompt wheel.
