Using time budgets allows you to track the hours worked vs the hours budgeted for a job.
To turn on the feature, go to Admin —> Settings —> General Settings and check the box next to Track Budgeted Time Overage.
This will allow you to assign a time budget (e.g. 5 hours) to a jobs, and report on overages if they occur.
In order to use time budgets, you must setup time budget information for each job using the job edit form.
Notice that when you set a time budget for a job, you can choose to have the system automatically adjust the hours worked to match the budgeted time. This is useful if your employee gets paid for a fixed number of hours, regardless of how long the job actually took. For example, employee always gets paid for 5 hours of work, even if they get done early or take extra time to do the job.
