QuickBooks Desktop software allows you to create a special file that contains employee names, customer data, and service item data. To create this file in QuickBooks, go to File —> Utilities —> Export —> Timer Lists, as shown in the screen shot below.

For QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and newer, the menu has changed slightly. Go to File —> Utilities —> Export —> Lists to IIF Files as show here.

You will need to select 3 types of data. Employees, Customers, and Items. Once you have generated this file, you can upload it to Telephone Timesheets.

To upload QuickBooks data into Telephone Timesheets, go to Integrations —> QuickBooks.

From there you can either click on the blue Upload button or simply drag-and-drop the file.

The initial upload allows our system to match all of the employee names in Telephone Timesheets with the employee names in QuickBooks. If there are names we can’t determine a match for, we will notify you in the error log so you can manually correct the mismatch. For example, if you entered the employee as Katherine Johnson in Telephone Timesheets, but they are entered as Katie Johnson in QuickBooks, we would not be able to determine a match and you would have to correct one of the entries, either in Telephone Timesheets or in QuickBooks.

In addition to the initial upload, you should perform an upload anytime you make changes to employees, customer data, or service item data in QuickBooks. Each time you upload, you will be presented with a View Log button. It will be highlighted in red if there are any errors. You can click on the View Log button to see those errors.

The most recent event log will be at the top of the page.
Look for error messages and make adjustments as necessary.
