Rename the Master Unit Of Measure (UOM)

In this article, you will learn how to rename the Master UOM.

Why you will need this:

The Master unit of measure represents the “main” unit of a product. A Master UOM is automatically created and identified as “Each” (EA) when a product is created in SwiftCount.
If your company deals with a specific main unit, you can rename the Master UOM to a more representative UOM.

What you will need:

Add/Import products. Click here to learn how to Add/import products to your account

Step 1: Go to UOM’s section

Go to the “Settings” module on the left banner, last module.
Click the “Units of measure” button

Step 2: Select the Master UOM

On the UOM screen, locate the Master UOM (Hint: the one with ID=1)
Click “View”

Step 3: Rename the Master UOM

Fill out the form to rename the Master UOM
Choose a code : your internal identifier for the unit of measure
Enter a description of the new unit of measure
Click “Save” button when done

Additional Options:

Click the “Tag” button to add a tag to your UOM (a Tag is a way to group your UOM with an identifier).
