Move product quantities in and out

In this article, you will learn how to do movements in and out.

Why you will need this:

If you need to add new product quantities (e.g. you just received a new order and haven’t used the “purchase order” module). Or if you need to move product quantities out (e.g. the product is damaged and can’t be sold/shipped…)

To move quantities in or out, you have three (3) different options:

The best way to move products in is via purchase orders or transfer from a location to another.

Integrating SwiftCount to your POS system will sync automatically your stock levels, from the sales (movement out).

Option #1: Do it from the product module

Go to the “Products” Module
Select the product you want to add/remove quantities for
Click “View”

Click “Movements”
Click the “+” sign to add (movement-in) or “-” sign to remove (movement-out)

Select the location where your product is
Enter the quantity you want to add or remove
Select the unit of measure (UOM)
Click “OK” to validate the quantity or “Cancel” to cancel

Additional Options:

Click the “Tag button” to add a tag to your product (tag = identifier).

Option #2: Do it from the location module

Go to the “Locations” Module
Select the location that you want to add/remove quantity from
Click “View”

Select the product you want to add or remove quantities for
Click the “+” sign to add quantities (movement-in) or “-” sign button to remove quantities (movement-out)

Enter the quantity you want to add or remove
Select the unit of measure (UOM)
click “OK” to validate the quantity or “Cancel” to cancel

Additional Options:

Click the “Tag button” to add a tag to your product (tag = identifier).

Option #3: Do it from the location module selecting a product

Go to the “Locations” Module
Select the product you want to add/remove quantities for
Click “View”

Select the location you want to add or remove quantities to
Click the “+” sign to add (movement-in) or “-” sign to remove (movement-out)

Enter the quantity you want to add or remove
Select the UOM
click “OK” to validate the quantity or “Cancel” to cancel
