Create a new location when receiving a purchase order

In this article, you will learn how to create a new location when receiving a purchase order.

Why you will need this:

If the location where you plan to stock your product doesn’t exist yet, you can create it when receiving the purchase order.

Receive a purchase order. Click here to learn how to receive a purchase order

Step 1: Create the new location

When receiving a purchase order, in the count screen, choose “TO” to select the location

Click the “+” sign to create a new location

Enter the new location details
Specify the Code: Your internal identifier for the location.
Specify the Description: Description of the location
Select the Warehouse: The place where this new location is a part of
Click “Create”

Note: When receiving multiple items to the same location you can lock the location where you are receiving so it remains until a new location is selected

To do that click on the little lock on the top of the item detail screen. When you do it will turn blue.
