|August 2017||8.1 (a) (iii) and 8.4.1 ( c) – The Lifesaver Relay event is now conducted in the fixed order of Surf Boat, followed by Swim, Board, Ski and Run. 8.4.1 (e) – The note to this section has been deleted and other changes made to reflect the new leg order. 8.2.3 – For ease of reading the order for the Ironman/Ironwoman race now reads the same as all the other multi discipline races. This event is still subject to a random draw. 8.3.4 (b), 8.4.3 (e) and 8.5.3 (a) – A clarification for the Four Person Taplin, Lifesaver and Cameron Relay events that runners are permitted to enter the water to tag the incoming competitor and may wade, porpoise off the bottom with their feet, catch waves and/or run to the turning flags but are not permitted to swim at any time (this includes taking an overarm action to either catch or stay on a wave). 8.3.3 (f), 8.4.3 (f) and 8.5.3 (f) – A clarification for the Taplin, Lifesaver and Cameron Relay events that the SCO line only is required for the swim or board start and a swim or board changeover (as applicable) i.e. once a race has commenced there is no requirement for an outgoing competitor to cross this line after a changeover but the swimmer or board paddler (as applicable) must be tagged on the shoreward side of the SCO line. The SCO line is not required for a ski changeover. 8.3.3, 8.4.3 & 8.5.3 – An amendment for the Taplin, Lifesaver and Cameron Relay events to clarify that either the incoming or outgoing competitor may affect the tag|
|October 2017||8.1 (e) – Delete section. Members are now permitted to compete on a ski in Open ironman/woman and the surf boat leg of the Lifesaver Relay upon reaching 15 years of age as at 30 September in a competition year (i.e. they are in the U17 age category). 8.1 (f) – Delete section and renumber remaining sections (f) and (g) 8.4.1 (b) Note 2 now reads: “A member is permitted to compete in a surf boat leg of the Lifesaver Relay when they are in the U17 age category (i.e. reaching 15 years of age as at 30 September in a competition year).”|
|May 2018||A Note has been added to section 8.6.3 (h) indicating both competitors are required to cross the finish line on their feet to correctly complete the course.|
|July 2018|| 8.1 © (i) – A note has been added to reflect that at any time before or during competition should assessment of the course conditions conclude that it would be difficult to achieve a fair start with a craft leg first the Referee, in conjunction with the Competition Committee, may, determine that Ironman, Ironwoman, Cameron and Taplin Relay events commence with the swim leg first. The ballot shall determine the order of the following board and ski legs of these events.
8.4.1 (a) – A note has been added to confirm that the Lifesaver Relay event is conducted at Australian Surf Life Saving Championships only when it is possible to run the final with surf boat leg and the remainder of the course side by side and with the one start.
8.6.3 (h) – A note has been added to clarify that both competitors in the Board Rescue Race are required to cross the finish line on their feet to correctly complete the course.
