QLD DRONE FACILITATOR PROCESS

CRITERIA FOR BECOMING A QLD DRONE FACILITATOR IF YOU HOLD RePL
Candidates must hold the following to become a QLD Drone Facilitator:

  • TAESS00029 – Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set (or equivalent) AND TAESS00019 – Assessor skill set (or equivalent), OR
  • TAE40122 (or TAE40116, or TAE40110) – Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Hold the Drone Operator Award
  • Hold a RePL sub7kgs minimum qualification
  • Have a minimum of 20 hours flying in excluded or included categories – must produce flight logs.

PROBATIONARY PROCESS TO BECOME A QLD DRONE FACILITATOR IF YOU HOLD RePL

  1. To become an QLD Drone Facilitator please complete the application EOI Jotform link and upload any relevant documents as outlined below.

  2. Be endorsed and receive confirmation by relevant EATS and Regional Drone Advisor
  3. Undertake at least two courses under probation (at least one observing and one delivering a full induction). This must be recorded in the QLD Drone Facilitator probationary form QLD Drone Facilitator Probationary Form.
  4. Please email completed probationary forms to education@lifesaving.com.au
  5. Once the probationary facilitator has completed at least two probationary courses and been approved, SLSQ Education will allocate the QLD Drone Facilitator award.
  6. QLD Drone Facilitators must be re-endorsed annually through skills maintenance by SLSQ if they wish to continue in this role.

FOR MEMBERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO BECOME A QLD DRONE FACILITATOR BUT DON’T HOLD RePL

SLSQ Lifesaving will place 8 candidates per year through a RePL qualification for members wishing to become a QLD Drone Facilitator.

Please note that participation in the RePL course requires 2 days practical, 2 days theory and 15 hours of pre-learning.

  1. Interested candidates should meet training criteria and hold the QLD Drone Operator award.
  2. Complete the EOI application form that will be sent out twice a year in May and November. The EOI can be accessed via The Hub and Education Communications at the relevant time.
  3. Be endorsed by relevant EATS and Regional Drone Advisor.
  4. The application will be reviewed by SLSQ and applicants will receive an email outlining the outcome of their application.
  5. Successful applicants will receive a list of available dates for their region and course requirements.
  6. Upon successful completion of the RePL qualification, email a copy of the certificate to education@lifesaving.com.au
  7. Complete the expression of interest in becoming a QLD Drone Facilitator – use the Jotform link in the probationary process above.
