Below is a checklist of all the things you need to do as soon as you get elected in the role as deputy president for the association:

  1. Arrange a handover meeting to understand the current priorities.
  2. Familiarise yourself with the SLSQ Governance and Admin Manual.
  3. Familiarise yourself with your association’s constitution & by-laws.
  4. Review your association’s committee structure, key contacts and past minutes.
  5. Respond and re-direct any outstanding correspondence.
  6. Familiarise yourself with past committee meeting minutes to understand the decision making and voting process.
  7. Register for any training or governance sessions possible offered by SLSQ.
  8. Meet with the President, wo you’ll be supporting, to clarify expectations and responsibilities.
