Below is a checklist of all the things you need to do as soon as you get elected in the role as deputy president for the association:
- Arrange a handover meeting to understand the current priorities.
- Familiarise yourself with the SLSQ Governance and Admin Manual.
- Familiarise yourself with your association’s constitution & by-laws.
- Review your association’s committee structure, key contacts and past minutes.
- Respond and re-direct any outstanding correspondence.
- Familiarise yourself with past committee meeting minutes to understand the decision making and voting process.
- Register for any training or governance sessions possible offered by SLSQ.
- Meet with the President, wo you’ll be supporting, to clarify expectations and responsibilities.
