The Australian Lifeguard Service (ALS) is a national division of Surf Life Saving Australia, designed to provide lifeguard services to local government and private enterprises throughout Australia. In QLD the ALS is contracted to 17 local government authorities and private entities, providing 74 services including 69 beaches, 4 lagoons and 1 water playground. SLSQ employs a staff of over 300 employees including both permanent and casual lifeguards, including 9 area supervisors.
