Removal of proof of age
Proof of age, such as a birth certificate, is no longer required to be sighted for new members joining a club. This change will simplify the sign-up process, making it easier for everyone. Should a club choose to, they can still request to sight a member’s identification as part of the sign on process, however no copies are to be taken/requested under any circumstances.

Restriction of Inflatable Aquatic Equipment
The use of inflatable aquatic assessment is no longer endorsed by SLSA. This includes but is not limited to biscuits, pontoons, obstacles and lily pads. Independent insurance is required if a club wished to continue utilising this equipment. More information can be found Here

Nipper Safety Assistant
The Nipper Safety Assistant award is designed to assist clubs with additional resources for water safety during Nippers. This Award allows individuals who do not hold a Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion to support water safety personnel during Nipper activities under certain conditions. More information on the NSA can be found Here

Age Award Requirements
For Nippers to be eligible for the relevant Age Award Certificate, all required age group education lessons must have been successfully completed. A minimum of 50% attendance for the duration of the Nipper season is also required.

Age Managers
The new and improved Age Manager/Age Manager Assistant course is now live on the SLSQ Education Hub. Information on how to become an age manager can be found Here

SLSA Nipper App
The below are a list of enhancements made to the Nipper App this season:

  • View all members across multiple age groups—fewer clicks needed for check-in/out.
  • Option to label sessions as either ‘Nippers’ or ‘Nipper Training’. Training sessions are not included in the ‘attended’ session count.
  • Generate certificates across multiple pages with a single click (e.g., all U10 pages).
  • Emergency contact access: Tap the telephone icon on the session screen to call the emergency contact directly.
  • Add a visitor to a Nipper group (if they are a financial member and within the same age category).
  • Enhanced filtering options to quickly see who is checked in and out.

Games Manual & Videos
SLSQ have released a new Games manual as well as a number of videos to support age managers on the beach. These can be found on the Junior Activities Centre here: JA Centre

Club Health Checks
This season, the Junior Activities Club Health check process has been simplified. With a new JA Gap calculator that’s readily accessible to clubs, and a more streamlined jotform questionnaire, health checks this year should provide meaningful information for clubs and regions, and support statewide resourcing and processes. For information on how to utilise your clubs Gap Calculator, follow the steps Here
